The interchange is located on the Bolshaya Nevka embankment, on the cross of the two lines - Kamennoostrovsky avenue - Ushakovsky bridge and Academic Krylov str. - Admiral Ushakov embankment - Primorsky avenue. The building of the Navy Academy nearby and the Ushakovsky bridge form the architectural environment of the place.
In the project the authors tried to make the construction resonate to the surrounding and not to destroy the St. Petersburg architectural tradition. The place is anyway concerned to the navy, that's why this theme is leading in decorating and constructions.
The central supports dominates in the structure. They've got heavy bottom and ship cannons on the top. The cannons and other decorative items were designed in cooperation with the author of the Ushakovsky bridge, Vladimir Vasilkovsky. It so occurred that it was his last job.
