Main idea of the business centre project is the completion of the building formation with an entrance to the bank of the River Neva. Business centre consists of the 3 office buildings. They are situated on the common platform of the 2-levels parking lot. Entrances to the building were made at the roof level of this stylobate. First floor of the parking lot is underground.
Head office of the JSC "Bank St. Petersburg" will be in the central 22-storeyed building.
It was important to solve several issues while choosing glass for facades of the building.
- Buildings must look like semitransparent. i.e. internal structure must be seen from the outside. At the same time it must be light reflective effect of the facade for the integration of architectural form.
- Also it was necessary to avoid increased heat losses while large surface of fenestration but in summer period glass should reflect most of solar energy.
- The color of evaporated film should be neutral. This above mentioned color gives film multifunctional characteristics.
All three glass lined buildings are made of the same type of glass. Meanwhile each façade has its own peculiarities.
Office-buildings' facades are made in beam-and-column stained glass construction with a combination of common and structural fenestration. Natural stone and vertical metal sun-screen blades were used in its lining.
Main building's façade is an architectural keynote of the complex. It is made in one of the elementwise stained glass panels' variant without a girt outside. Hyperbolic surface of the building's façade consists of rectangular glass panels. Individual curvature was made in plant conditions. Estimated glass curvature in glass unit is provided by one of the aluminum carcass's angle displacement from the flat area. Therefore elementwise façade's panels consist of the line metal profiles with curved glass units. Such cam surfaces' formation technology from the quadrangle elements of minor curvature is well-known in world practice. But in Russia it was performed for the first time while building of the skyscraper and façade lining with storey-height elements "slab-to-slab". Color printing is on the glass for decoration of the stepwise slabs.
Glass with color printing is also widely used in the interiors of the JSC "Bank St. Petersburg" head-office. Main lobby, floor-by-floor elevator lobbies, elevator cabs are decorated with glass panels with fragments' facades printing of the St-Petersburg banks' buildings.
