The site is located in the central district of the city, in a corner, and the dimensions along both streets are virtually the same; thus, the symmetric scheme of the building is deemed quite regular and appropriate in this case. This is St. Petersburg's first newly built five-star hotel. The building is an example of introducing contemporary architectural forms and construction technologies in architectural space taken shape under the influence of historism ideas. Suvorovskiy, 18 is an attempt of combining neoclassic with up-to-date materials - much of glass, much of metal. This is some stylistically tailored work performed within the later rational modern stylistics. |
