The Evgeny Gerasimov and Partners Architectural Workshop has developed the architectural solutions for the façades of this building. The core idea was to integrate the new building in the existing ensemble of the railway station forecourt.
In 1975, the Sochi Railway Station (built by the architect A. N. Dushkin in 1952) was included in the list of the pieces of local architectural heritage and in the UNESCO Red Book.
The hotel is built along the traditions of southern coastal architecture . Those are emphasised through an imitation of stonework and large archways on the ground floor façade, a calm rhythm of the windows pattern, balconies, a terrace on the upper floor, and a tiled roof.
The hotel was from the beginning to have an architecturally inferior status: the building’s altitudinal dimensions were designed in view of the main parameters of the station as to provide for a uniform architectural ensemble. For this purpose, the main cornice of the hotel was linked to the station cornice, while the height of the lower part of the façade, highlighted through the large rustication (ground floor), was matched with the corresponding part of the station façade. The one-storey half-round part of the building adjoins the pre-existing pavilion containing the station relaxation rooms.
