The project suggests arrangement of the urban environment in St. Petersburg «Moskovskaya-Tovarnaya» railway station area. That environment section has been in a deplorable state for a long time; besides, there was no development unanimity and lack of possibility of optimal use of the entire territory. Consequently, the primary task was the comprehensive territory development through building an overpass road over the square-cut residential quarters, on one hand, and partial pattern planning of streets and public structures subject to influence of Our Lady of St. Theodore Cathedral, which is under renewal, on the other hand. Those sites are consolidated by a common axis formed by the canal line and pedestrian zone, which passes by all significant architectural dominants. TATLIN MONO 4/13/67 2008 |
