The main idea of the town-planning concept is forming a new complex around the B.J. Eifman Dance Palace and along the new "Embankment of Europe". Town-planning method is based on a harmonious combination of a new square around the theatre, of a chain of residential and office blocks surrounding it and facing the embankment and of the streets, the axis of one of which is aimed at the Prince Vladimir Cathedral in the north and at St. Isaac's Cathedral in the south.
The town-planning structure of the complex "Embankment of Europe" is conceived in a way that enables participation in the detailed design of different European architects; they'll create different buildings with different facades within the limits of a uniform complex with a uniform town-planning code. This principle is especially important for the development of "Embankment of Europe". Facade of "Embankment of Europe" consists of 5 different buildings united by the same compositional principle: the buildings side projections and central portals. Each of these buildings may be created by different architects on the basis of the set town-planning composition, like it was excellently done at the University embankment.
