The idea of the project was to create a large residential area in the city center. The city-planning solution of the complex is related to the Feodorovskaya Icon of the Mother of God Cathedral, around which the main square of the complex builds.

The dimensional and sculptural solution creates a relationship between Verona and the Renaissance palazzos of Northern Italy. The main façade finish is made of natural stone and emphasized by a porch with four Corinthian columns.

The architecture of the first-line buildings facades is inspired by the corridor-like development typical for the old part of the Saint Petersburg. The inner-block buildings facings are designed by young architects - winners of a special contest for the best design of a residential house façade.

Russky Dom continues and rethinks two traditions at once: that of the Saint Petersburg Art Nouveau revenue houses and of the original ancient Russian architecture of the 16th and 17th centuries.
